Today marks the day that I begin to journey into making sourdough. Follow along with me and give me some pointers even. I’ve made other breads in the past but this will be my first attempt at actually making sourdough. I used 1 cup all purpose flour and 1/2 cup of bottled water for my starter. So, I’m excited!
Day 1

On day 2 I discarded half of the starter, and then added 1 cup of flour and 1/2 cup of water.
Day 3
On day 3 I discarded half of the starter and then added 1 cup of flour and 1/2 cup of water.
Day 4
On day four I discarded half of the starter and added 1 cup of flour and 1/2 cup of water.

On day 6 I added 1 cup of flour and 1/2 cup of bottled water in the morning and the same in the evening.
Day 14
Well folks what can I say!? It took another 6 days for my starter to be airy enough to use. I’m so thankful for this journey. Not only for my starter from scratch, but also what I learned spiritually.
This morning I was reminded to keep Jesus at my center. So, I asked Jesus to be at the center of my life and everything that I do. I’ve done this before, but it’s been awhile since I prayed this prayer, or maybe it was the first time I prayed this prayer. Either way, I prayed it and I immediately sensed a shift in me. I’m so thankful for everything that Jesus is doing in my life and in this season.
Jesus can be trusted. I dare you to give Him a try. There is no failure in Christ. And with God anything is possible.
So back to my sourdough starter. I was determined to wait it out and it was well worth it. To God Be The Glory!
