“and if you do not turn aside from any of the words that I command you today, to the right hand or to the left, to go after other gods to serve them.”
Deuteronomy 28:14 ESV
“Let your eyes look directly forward, and your gaze be straight before you. Ponder the path of your feet; then all your ways will be sure. Do not swerve to the right or to the left; turn your foot away from evil.”
Proverbs 4:25-27 ESV
Obedience to Christ is the straight and narrow way, the path that He puts in front if you led by His word and holy Spirit. Trust that His way is the best way. Even though there might be situations that look better to your eye and may come easy, but it’s path leads to destruction. The narrow way is the hard way, and will require endurance, but its reward is great. So brothers and sisters:
““Enter by the narrow gate. For the gate is wide and the way is easy that leads to destruction, and those who enter by it are many.”
Matthew 7:13 ESV
Do not turn to the left or the right as they lead to destruction, the only way to live is by the word of God. Even partial obedience is disobedience. And so is delayed obedience, so we have to ensure that we are acting when Christ says so.
So, who are you serving and worshipping? Worship is our highest form of obedience so worship only the one true God and not any other gods. We all worship something. What or who are you worshipping? Is it Jesus? Or is it something else? Is it diet and exercise, a relationship, a job or career, a person, a celebrity? Or is Jesus the center of your life in every area of your life? Are you living by the word like the psalmist says,
“Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path.”
Psalm 119:105 ESV
So, I have a challenge for you. If you aren’t already reading your bible daily then I challenge you to begin doing so and choosing Christ. Read your bible and see what the LORD wants to say to you. Remember to keep Christ first in your life in everything that you do.
Additionally, Jesus loves you, and wants a relationship with you. We can’t earn our way into heaven as it was bought with a price; the blood of Jesus. But let’s all dig a little deeper in our devotion to Him.
May God Bless You All!
